Canadian Drone Pilot! What do you log for flight surveys and what apps are you using?!
Right now this is all the information I collect prior to a flight:
- Client/Project Name
- General Location
- Lat/Long Location
- Flight Description
- Pilot Name and Cert #
- Drone Model / Registration $
- Observer/Crew Member Names
- Flight Date/Time
- Weather
- Airspace
- Max Altitude and Radius
- Description of Area of Operations + Map (I make the maps in QGIS)
- Take off and Approach Procedures
- Obstacles/Hazards
- Nearby Aerodromes, Airports, Airways, Restricted Airspace (Note their names, heading, approx distance) + Map (I use the Canadian Drone Selection Tool and Airspace finder Website to colelct this info).
- Have Copies of Relevant NOTAMS + CFS- Emergency Contacts (Nearest Airport, Fire, Police, Ambulance, ATC, FIC)
- Pilot and Company Owner Contact Info
Do you guys think this is overkill? Do you think there's anything missing?
Currently I use a Microsoft Access Database to keep track of all this information, I know there are apps out there but I feel like they are lacking or constantly require an internet connection (i work in remote areas). If there are better applications/methods out there, feel free to share!
Thanks!
