How to get into drone building as a hobby?

I have been looking for a hands-on hobby because I like to build things, but I am also a college student so I do not always have access to a shop, and want a hobby I can work on in my dorm. Drones seem like something I would enjoy doing but I have no idea where to start! I am specifically interested in building or assembling the drone, not just buying a prebuilt one. For context, I am willing to spend a decent amount of money (maybe $100-300 dollars) if needed. Of course, I know that this can be an expensive hobby but I just want something that will introduce me to it to see if I like it before I pour tons of money into it.
