Is my new drone broken?

I bought a MAVIC air drone last week from a reputable DJI outlet, and after thoroughly reading the user manual and watching several YouTube videos I still have not been able to get it off the ground even once!

I have done software updates directly through the pc, however it still has not resolved the issue.

Upon startup the drone lights up and the fan comes on as required, but no prop twitch or startup sound at all and when trying to link the controller pushing the button on the drone as instructed produces no sound and a failed linking.

Any advice would be helpful, just hoping I don't need to request a refund 😕
