[Question] about LAANC

Hello, I recently moved close to a class D airport and have been doing research about what is required of me to fly my fpv 5 inch drone on my land and have found that I have to request to fly using LAANC but I’m hearing it takes up to 5 days to get approval now is an LAANC a one time flight thing or over days is the first question second question if I don’t plan on even getting to the ceiling of 200 they show on the map why do I even need that crap I just want to fly by my house every so often this seems pretty crappy to have to plan a flight a week in advance
