The most common missions will be real estate-related, making videos of medium and large rural tracts for online brochure purposes.
Other missions may include crop inspections, insurance inspections (trees falling through the roof, for example), barn and silo inspections, and occasionally golf courses and resorts.
I have little experience with drones, but considerable aviation experience dating back to the 1970's. I hold both pilot and mechanic certificates, but will have to take the initial 107 test because I've only flown ultralights for the past 10 years and have no medical, BFR, nor currency. I also have been flying remote-control airplanes off and on since the 1970's.
In other words, I'm not too worried about crashing the thing. I know enough to start with basic maneuvers in light winds and work my way up until I'm ready for actual missions, and I have plenty of space to practice.
I passed practice knowledge tests for 107 with grades in the 80's and 90's, but I decided to take a course anyway (Pilot Institute) because I want to get 100 percent on the FAA test. I figure this probably will be my last FAA test, so I want to ace it. The one and only time I ever got 100 on an FAA test before was my Airframe Mechanic test in 1980.
Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thank you.
