Drone Laws

I’m in the US and I’ve been thinking about grabbing a nice new drone with fancy camera and try my hand at videography. However I started doing research into it and I’m now at a wall that’s called Part 107. If I’m going to get a drone just for basically fun and use the footage for YouTube I’d like to just do that. Unfortunately I’m not sure trying to complete the test and register my flights is really worth it. Any advice for an interested yet timid potential operator?
