Flight control using code

Hi, I need to be able to control a drone to take off fly, hover and land on a charging station for a project. It all needs to be controlled using code and the return to home function also needs to be automated. Is there any flight controllers that allow you to program them? I was also thinking of setting it up in a way so once the automated take off has been completed it can be flown using a controller and a button could activate the fly home function. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks
