RC Airplanes to Drone transition

Im new to the drone world. I just purchased a cheap one to play with, but Ive never flown one. But Ive flown electric RC planes. Quite a few. Im very comfortable and proficient with planes. Are they entirely different? Ive found a website that gives the functions of the controls on the radio/remote. Thats all Im using in my "drone lessons". Also, any tips will be appreciated. I already know not to jam the control sticks.. light touches.. lol Im excited like kid on Christmas! Thanks.
